The Tenth Circle takes its title from Dante's Inferno—a tenth circle not found in the canonical nine, reserved for the worst kind of betrayers: those who betray the people who loved them most. The novel braids Trixie's assault and its aftermath with Daniel's origin story, his wife Laura's affair, and an actual graphic novel illustrated by artist Dustin Weaver that runs parallel through the book.
