Overview

Fade picks up the story of Janie Hannagan, whose involuntary ability to slip into other people's dreams has made her an unwitting confidante to Fieldridge High's darkest secrets. When she begins entering the nightmares of a classmate, she stumbles onto evidence of something happening inside the school that adults have failed, or refused, to see.

The investigation that follows pulls Janie deeper than she is prepared for, testing the boundary between the dream world she can observe and the real-world consequences she cannot control. Her partnership with Cabel, complicated already by their shared secret, frays further as his own choices bring unexpected fallout for them both.
