About Lamar Consolidated ISD

Lamar Consolidated Independent School District is a public school district headquartered in Rosenberg, Texas, serving communities across the eastern and central portions of Fort Bend County. The district was formed in 1947 through the consolidation of Richmond ISD, Rosenberg ISD, Beasley ISD, and several rural common school districts. That founding history—multiple separate communities merging their schools into one system—still shapes the district’s geographic and demographic breadth.

Today Lamar Consolidated ISD enrolls approximately 44,500 students across more than 40 campuses, making it the fastest-growing school district in Fort Bend County, which is itself one of the most rapidly developing counties in the United States. The district covers roughly 43 percent of Fort Bend County’s land area, stretching from established neighborhoods in Richmond and Rosenberg to newer master-planned communities in Fulshear, Simonton, and Beasley.

Schools and Community

Lamar Consolidated operates seven comprehensive high schools, including the district’s flagship Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg, along with B.F. Terry, Foster, George Ranch, Fulshear, Randle, and Tomas high schools. In 2009 the district was recognized as an H-E-B Excellence in Education School District, reflecting strong academic performance amid rapid growth. Superintendent Dr. Roosevelt Nivens has led the district since 2021, following Dr. Thomas Randle’s two-decade tenure. With hundreds of titles removed from school libraries in recent years, Lamar Consolidated has become one of the most active districts in Texas for book challenges, drawing increased scrutiny from parents, educators, and First Amendment advocates alike.
